Garden Design

After qualifying in 2007, with a Garden Design Diploma, my Garden Design projects included a Children’s Centre Garden, Infant School Play Areas and Private Residential Garden Projects. My previous background in Interior Design provides a unique outlook and professional approach. Confidence in the concept design, design development, technical design skills, project monitoring, scheduling, procurement and administration, which crosses over easily to Garden and Landscape Design, has been invaluable. Then after project completion, going on to maintain my garden design, for example The Children’s Centre Garden Gardens for five years until we relocated to West Sussex.

Located on the Coast near Chichester, projects may be in West Sussex, East Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire and further afield. Having sometimes collaborated with other professionals and also running my own projects too, provides an interesting mixture of experience. Often using Vector Works software, Sketch Up, plus AutoCad. Recently also training in Revit and Photoshop. Project responsibilities have included Surveying, Concept Design, Master Plans, Construction Detailing, Bespoke Design, Client Presentation, Sketch Views,  Planting Design, and Garden Lighting Design.

The Project work will include providing the Specification and Scope of Works Documents, contracts essential to ensure a good quality build. Being responsible for all project liaison and monitoring where requested on site throughout, provides a seamless build for my Clients. Also often undertaking the soft landscaping on site, as well as providing Planting Furniture, Art / Accessory and Maintenance Schedules along, with the Financial Project Workbook, including each item.

My practice has developed into one which focuses on enhancing exterior spaces in a naturalistic way, with carefully selected, sustainable, good quality materials and unique style. With Spring in the air, it’s a great time to find garden design inspiration with a consultation and then a brand new design, or an update of your outdoor spaces!
